Located in the Sacramento Pocket neighborhood, Garcia Bend Park provides easy access to fishing. The boat ramp is easy to get to, located at the end of the park traveling over the levee of the Sacramento River.
When you arrive, you’ll notice the wide-open sports fields and plenty of parking for various vehicles and trailers. The park has picnic areas, restrooms and other green spaces.
This peaceful tree-lined park along the Sacramento River includes nearly 60 acres of developed acres with picnic areas and plenty of river access points, including a boat trailer parking, boat ramp and dock.
Recent visitors have commented on how active parts of the river are with bustling sturgeon and stripers.
Once near the water, you will feel the softness of sand under your shoes and notice plenty of other wildlife on the riverbanks, in the trees and sky.
Located beside Interstate 5 near downtown, the 302-acre park is at the confluence of the river and provides anglers with the opportunity to catch the best from both rivers.
It is the county’s go-to boat launching area for recreational boating given its central location to some stunning and beautiful sights of both rivers.
Land Park Pond and Southside Park
For a smaller taste of the outdoors, try a little urban fishing at Land Park Pond or South Side Park.
The urban water is well maintained, with plenty of shade, lawn, playgrounds and other family-centered attractions.
The fishing at Southside Park is accessible and is also fenced for everyone’s safety. The park is located at 2115 6 th Street.
Ponds are stocked with catfish and hatchery trout.
